How are the Dota 2 rankings calculated?

Every team has an Elo rating. After each match the winner takes points from the loser; beating a stronger opponent earns more, losing to a weaker one costs more (K-factor 32).

New teams start from the tier of the events they play (S 1700, A 1600, B 1500, C 1400, D 1300), because regional leagues rarely meet and an identical start for everyone would not be comparable.

The ▲▼ arrow next to a rating is its change over the last 30 days. The table is recalculated daily from all recorded results; win probabilities on match pages and in the predictor use these same ratings.
